he Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside is recruiting faculty members in the Department of Medicine. The successful applicant(s) must qualify for an academic appointment in Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full professor rank. We seek clinical educators to participate in part- time and/or full-time inpatient and outpatient clinical practice in Internal Medicine within an academic setting in one or more of the following clinical specialties:
• Cardiology
• Dermatology
• Endocrinology
• Gastroenterology
• Geriatrics
• Nephrology
• Primary Care
• Pulmonary
• Rheumatology
These positions offer excellent opportunities for teaching and pursuing a career in academic medicine with time dedicated to teaching, research, and scholarly activity. Applicants who have completed a clinical fellowship in their respective specialties are preferred. The successful candidate(s) will practice at UC Riverside School of Medicine affiliated Clinics in Inland Southern California. The UCR School of Medicine’s mission is to improve the health of the community in the Inland Empire, one of the most ethnically diverse and medically underserved areas of the country.
Basic qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree, or equivalent degree
Hold a full and unrestricted license from the Medical Board of California
Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, or appropriate American Certifying Board or eligible for certification if within 3 years of completing residency.
Qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and at UCR affiliated health settings
Additional qualifications
Demonstrated experience in teaching residents and medical students.

Health Sciences Clinical Instructor Rank
A successful candidate should complete a high-quality postgraduate clinical training or be accepted into a postgraduate clinical training program. Must be eligible for one of the medical specialty boards and have a clear potential as a clinical teacher. At this rank, the initial appointment is limited to one year.
Assistant, Associate and Full Professor Rank
Successful candidates will also be expected to participate in research, scholarly activities, University and public service appropriate for the academic appointments in Professor of Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical series.
Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
The posted UC salary scales Academic salaries | UCOP set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 for the salary range. The Salary range for this position is $131,200 - 344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan HSCP Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
